Fulham tops Liverpool for first-ever win at Anfield

Liverpool, England (Betting Express) - Fulham won for the first-ever time at Anfield on Tuesday, edging Liverpool 1-0 in the English Premier League on an own goal to snap a 30-fixture drought at the stadium.

Fulham had 21 losses and nine draws in its previous matches at Anfield in all competitions, but an own goal from Martin Skrtel less than five minutes into the match was all the Cottagers needed against the uninspired Reds.

Liverpool, which will play the FA Cup final Saturday against Chelsea, rested a number of first-team players, as its European hopes in league play are gone.

After Skrtel deflected the ball into his own net early, Fulham's lead rarely looked in danger, as Brede Hangeland cleared a rare Liverpool chance off the line inside the half-hour mark.

Clint Dempsey had one of the better chances over the rest of the game, but the Fulham striker was denied his 17th league goal by Doni. The Cottagers remained unbeaten when they score first, a stretch of 23 games this season.

Liverpool had won two of its last three, but remained eighth in the table, now three points behind rival Everton for seventh. Fulham won for the third time in its last six, and is level on points with Liverpool in ninth.

Stoke City 1, Everton 1

Stoke-on-Trent, England - Cameron Jerome scored two minutes after coming into the match in the second half to answer a first-half own goal by Peter Crouch, and Stoke City tied Everton 1-1 on Tuesday at Britannia Stadium in the English Premier League.

Crouch deflected a Tony Hibbert cross late in the first half to give Everton a cushion before halftime, but Jerome answered in the 69th when he held off two defenders and slotted past Everton goalie Tim Howard.

Stoke pulled 10 points clear of the relegation zone as it earned its third tie during a four-game winless streak to seal survival and moved within two points of a place in the top half.

Everton extended its unbeaten streak to seven matches and picked up a point on rival Liverpool, which lost at home to Fulham on Tuesday. Everton is seventh, three points ahead of eighth-place Liverpool.
