Novara, Italy (Betting Express) - Novara has parted ways with manager Attilio Tesser and named Emiliano Mondonico as his replacement on Monday.

The move comes one day after a 2-0 defeat to Palermo doomed Novara to its fifth straight defeat in all competitions and left the club on the bottom of Serie A, seven points from safety.

Tesser took over at Novara in 2009 and helped the club gain promotion in back- to-back seasons, including an appearance in Serie A this campaign for the first time in 55 years.

The 64-year-old Mondonico will take charge of his first game at Novara when the club hosts Chievo on Thursday.
