Toronto, ON (Betting Express) - The New York Yankees placed outfielder/designated hitter Ruben Sierra on the 15-day disabled list prior to their 4-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Thursday with a right biceps injury. The 39-year-old Sierra, who will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine if there is a tear, was hurt while swinging at a pitch in the fourth inning of Wednesday's win over Toronto. Ironically, he doubled on the next pitch, but left the game after the inning. "We'll see what the results will be (Friday)," Sierra said. "I don't think it's torn, because I still have strength in my arm." Sierra, who has two homers and eight RBI in nine games this season, batted .244 with 17 homers and 65 runs batted in as a part-time outfielder/designated hitter last season. He played 107 games, including 22 in the outfield, but made his mark with a .385 average and 11 RBI as a pinch- hitter. The Yankees will make a corresponding move on Friday.
