Browns QB McCoy out Sunday with concussion

Berea, OH (Betting Express) - Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Colt McCoy will miss Sunday's game at Arizona due to a concussion, according to head coach Pat Shurmur.

"Colt McCoy and Owen Marecic will not be traveling with us so that means, of course that Seneca Wallace will start the game. He'll be backed up by Thad Lewis," Shurmur said.

McCoy suffered the concussion during last Thursday's 14-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers when he took a hard hit to the head from James Harrison after a pass attempt. McCoy went 18-for-35 with 209 yards and two interceptions in the defeat.

McCoy was sent home several times this week, including Friday, after complaining of headaches.

"I saw him this morning. He's still having some symptoms and that's why we sent him home. I wouldn't know exactly how to characterize it, but we'll talk about him, obviously, next week when we get back," Shurmur said.

Wallace, who will make his first start of the season, went 1-3 in four starts with Cleveland last year.

"I'm anticipating that Seneca's going to go out and execute efficiently and I think we saw Colt do that at times this year," Shurmur said of Wallace.

In addition, the Browns placed tight end Ben Watson -- who suffered three concussions this season -- on injured reserve, ending his season.
