Kansas City, MO (Betting Express) - Jeremy Reed highlighted a six-run fourth inning with a bases-clearing double, as the Seattle Mariners completed a three-game sweep of Kansas City with a 10-2 victory over the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Richie Sexson contributed a two-run homer and a run-scoring double and Wilson Valdez knocked in two runs for Seattle, which defeated Kansas City for the seventh consecutive time, dating back to last season. Jamie Moyer (2-0) worked seven innings for the win. He allowed two runs on nine hits, while walking one and striking out four. Denny Bautista (1-1) suffered the loss after surrendering six runs on four hits in 3 1/3 innings. He walked three and fanned one. David DeJesus went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for the Royals.

Final Score: Boston 8, New York 5

Boston, MA (Betting Express) - Edgar Renteria went 2-for-4 with three RBI and smacked a tie-breaking double in the bottom of the eighth inning as Boston downed the New York Yankees, 8-5, in a heated rubber match of a three-game series at Fenway Park. Jason Varitek also had three RBI and two hits, including a two-run triple in the eighth in which Yankees' rightfielder Gary Sheffield became involved in an altercation with a fan, adding another controversial chapter in the bitter rivalry between the clubs. Renteria, Varitek and Jay Payton all homered off New York ace Randy Johnson to help Boston avenge a 5-2 loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. Hideki Matsui finished 3-for-4 and knocked in three runs for the Yankees, who stranded 12 baserunners and fell for the fourth time in five games. Sheffield added three hits and an RBI in the loss.

Final Score: Cleveland 8, Chicago 6

Cleveland, OH (Betting Express) - Travis Hafner's two-run double keyed a big sixth inning and lifted the Cleveland Indians to an 8-6 victory over the Chicago White Sox in the finale of a three-game series at Jacobs Field. Hafner, Victor Martinez and Coco Crisp each had a pair of hits for the Indians, who avoided a sweep in the set and won for just the second time in five games. Martinez homered and drove in a pair of runs in the victory. Paul Konerko belted a three-run homer and Aaron Rowand posted three hits for the White Sox, who dropped to 6-3 on the young season. Willie Harris also finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Final Score: Tampa Bay 12, Baltimore 7

St. Petersburg, FL (Betting Express) - Carl Crawford belted a three-run homer and Travis Lee and Josh Phelps each drove in three runs, as Tampa Bay outslugged Baltimore, 12-7, to avoid a three-game sweep at Tropicana Field. Jorge Cantu, Charles Johnson and Aubrey Huff each collected an RBI for the Devil Rays, who welcomed back starting outfielder Alex Sanchez, who made his season debut after serving a 10-day suspension for violating Major League Baseball's new steroid policy. Sanchez, who became the first player to be hit with a suspension under baseball's new drug policy, ended 2-for-5 with three runs scored for Tampa Bay, which cranked out a season-high 14 hits en route to snapping a three-game slide and make a winner out of Rob Bell. Miguel Tejada hit a two-run homer, while Melvin Mora added a solo shot and ended with three RBI for Baltimore, which had a three-game winning streak snapped. Baltimore starter Sidney Ponson (1-1) lasted just three innings, allowing nine runs on seven hits to get tagged for the loss.

Final Score: Toronto 2, Texas 1

Arlington, TX (Betting Express) - Roy Halladay tossed a five-hitter as Toronto opened its four-game series against Texas with a 2-1 victory at Ameriquest Field. Halladay (2-0) struck out nine and walked just one in a dominating performance reminiscent of his Cy Young season of 2003. He threw 70 of his 117 pitches for strikes. Russ Adams drove in the go-ahead run with a pinch-hit groundout in the seventh inning for the Blue Jays, who have won five of their last six games and are off to an impressive 7-3 start. Texas, which has dropped three of four, also received a strong outing from starter Pedro Astacio (0-1), who allowed just two runs and five hits in seven innings of work. The veteran righty walked two and struck out four.

Final Score: Minnesota 10, Detroit 4

Minneapolis, MN (Betting Express) - Lew Ford finished 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and three runs scored while Jacque Jones went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored as the Minnesota Twins pounded the Detroit Tigers, 10-4, at the Metrodome. Mike Redmond also drove in a pair of runs for the Twins, who completed a three-game sweep of the Tigers while locking up their fourth straight win. Brad Radke (1-2) picked up the win after allowing three runs and six hits over six innings. He also struck out three batters and walked one. Rondell White hit a solo homer and drove in two runs for the Tigers, who have dropped four straight contests. Ivan Rodriguez and Dmitri Young each posted a pair of hits in the loss. Nate Robertson (0-1) was pounded for six runs -- four earned -- in five innings of action. He also walked five batters in the loss.
