Glasgow, Scotland (Betting Express) - Celtic gave its fans a show Saturday with a 6-0 victory over Dunfermline en route to moving just one point behind idle Rangers for the top spot in the Scottish Premier League. Rangers will have to wait until Sunday to take the field at Dundee in order to increase its margin back to four. John Hartson and Stilian Petrov netted two goals apiece for Celtic, which won its third league match in a row. Hartson now leads the league with 19 goals and has tallied 23 overall this season. Hartson gave his team a 1-0 edge in the ninth minute when he deflected a free- kick by Alan Thompson, and then made it a 3-0 affair in the 69th minute on a shot from close range. Also on Saturday, a short-handed Hearts squad fell at home, 2-0, to Inverness. Earlier in the week, Hearts was hoping to move the game to a later date after the flu hit a significant number of its first team players. However, on Friday the team's request was denied by the league. Defender Darren Dods and Barry Wilson each found the back of the net for Inverness, which has not lost in SPL action since a January 15, decision at Dundee. On the other hand, Hearts boss John Robertson, who has also been affected by the flu this week, has not won in four league outings. Rounding off Saturday's SPL play: Aberdeen moved into third place with a 3-0 win against Hibernian; Kilmarnock earned its first victory in four games in a 3-0 shutout versus Dundee United; Livingston has still yet to beat Motherwell this season after a 1-1 draw.
