=== Washington Wizards Team Report - March 8 ===

(Betting Express) - The Wizards will return to the court tonight when they tangle with the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Washington has won two of its last three contests, including an 86-84 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats at Charlotte Coliseum on Saturday. Laron Profit's putback of a Juan Dixon miss with 3.1 seconds remaining lifted the Wizards to the win.

Brendan Haywood had a season-high 22 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the Wizards, who won for just the third time in nine games. Gilbert Arenas added 21 points for Washington, which ended a six-game road slide.

Larry Hughes finished with 19 points, falling one short of his 13th straight 20- point performance. Kwame Brown tallied 16 points and 12 boards for the Wizards.

Washington forward Antawn Jamison left Saturday's game early due to a knee injury. Jamison has been diagnosed with tendinitis in his right knee and is expected to miss tonight's game. The forward's NBA-high consecutive-games streak is expected to end at 386.

Jared Jeffries (bruised right knee) and Etan Thomas (flu) are listed as questionable for tonight's game.

Washington, which is in the middle of a three-game road trip over nine days, is 11-6 in foreign buildings this season. The Wizards have lost six of seven and eight of their last 11 road games.

Washington posted a narrow 106-104 victory over the Knicks at the MCI Center on Dec. 10, snapping a six-game series losing streak. New York has won 21 of 33 and 36 of the last 49 meetings.

Following tonight's contest, the Wizards have their next four days off before taking on the Boston Celtics at the Garden on Sunday. Washington will return home to host the Los Angeles Lakers next Monday.
