=== Minnesota Timberwolves Team Report - January 16 ===

(Betting Express) - Minnesota tallied a 92-84 win over the Portland Trail Blazers at the Target Center on Saturday night.

Latrell Sprewell poured in 25 points, while Kevin Garnett scored 17 and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Minnesota over Portland, 92-84 at the Target Center.

Troy Hudson and Wally Szczerbiak combined to score 26 points off the bench for the Timberwolves, who won for the second straight time.

Minnesota came out in the third quarter and scored the first seven points to jump ahead, 51-44. Portland didn't get a field goal until the 8:19 mark when Nick Van Exel knocked down a two-point bucket.

The Trail Blazers stormed back, though, to make it a four-point spread, 67-63 heading into the fourth.

Damon Stoudamire nailed a three-pointer at 7:51 of the final stanza to trim the Minnesota lead, 73-72.

After the two clubs traded baskets for the next three minutes, Hudson and Garnett put the Timberwolves up for good. Hudson connected on a three-pointer, while Garnett followed on the next Minnesota possession with a lay-in to make it 88-80.

Eddie Griffin pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds for the Timberwolves. Griffin picked up the slack for center Michael Olowokandi, who missed the contest after being suspended four games for his role in a fight with Denver's Nene on Friday.

The Timberwolves have a day off before hosting the Toronto Raptors on Monday evening.
