=== Philadelphia 76ers Team Report - January 16 === (Betting Express) - Philadelphia dropped a 99-95 decision to the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Allen Iverson had a game-high 28 points and tied a season high with 13 assists for the 76ers, who ripped off a 27-8 run in the fourth quarter to take a short-lived lead. A Ben Wallace hoop one minute into the fourth quarter pushed the Pistons' lead to 14 points, at 80-66. But the Sixers went on a 12-2 run, capped by an Iverson hoop, to pull within 82-78 with 6 1/2 minutes left. Philadelphia extended the burst to 27-8 to grab a 93-88 lead with 1:58 left. Kenny Thomas had seven of his 16 points in the surge, which resulted in Philadelphia's first lead since 4-3 with 9:38 left in the first quarter. But the defending world champions quickly got off the mat. A jumper by Richard Hamilton pulled the Pistons within three, and a Billups' three-pointer with 1:28 left tied the game at 93 apiece. After an offensive foul on Marc Jackson, a 22-footer by Rasheed Wallace put the Pistons back in front by two points with 58 seconds left. Sixers' rookie Andre Iguodala hit a reverse layup to knot the game at 95 apiece with 48 seconds left. But Tayshaun Prince nailed a jumper on the ensuing possession to give the Pistons the lead for good, at 97-95. The Sixers have lost three straight on the road and 14 of their last 21 in Detroit. Detroit has won four straight in this series, and eight of the last 12. Philadelphia still owns a 109-83 all-time advantage in this series. Philadelphia has a day off before hosting the New Orleans Hornets.
