Nurnberg, Germany (Betting Express) - Surprise Bundesliga leaders Wolfsburg will try to improve on its away record when they play at Nurnberg on Saturday.
Wolfsburg has lost its last two away matches, 3-0 to Hannover and 2-0 to Bayern Munich. However, Eric Gerets' team still leads the Bundesliga with 24 points from 11 matches.
"We are also not celebrating anything," said Wolfsburg captain Stefan Schnoor. "We have always said that these are nice moments in time for us; let's see how long it lasts."
Nurnberg is currently 12th in the table, 11 points behind Wolfsburg. They are led by former Wolfsburg boss Wolfgang Wolf.
"(Wolf) played a big part in the development and success of the club," said Schnoor. "Nurnberg has problems if they have to force their game on an opponent. If they face a side which stands solid at the back they have difficulties."
Fourth-place Hannover faces a tough test when it plays at fifth-place Bayern Munich on Saturday. Bayern is coming off a 1-0 Champions League loss to Juventus, but is still in good position to qualify for the knockout stage.
Bayern is four points behind Wolfsburg through 11 Bundesliga matches.
"It's not a huge gap," said Bayern captain Oliver Kahn, "but we have to take off the rose-tinted spectacles. Last year we all thought we'd easily catch up. We have work to do if we want to hit our targets."
Kahn has been the subject of criticism after he mishandled a shot that led to the game-winning goal late in the Juventus match. But coach Felix Magath has supported Kahn and is focused on Saturday's match.
"We have to hit the gas pedal against Hanover and show them clearly who's boss around here," said Magath. "I want more than a sleeves rolled-up win, I want a convincing victory."
Schalke will try to make it six straight Bundesliga wins under Ralf Rangnick when it plays at Hamburg on Sunday. The winning streak has propelled Schalke to second place, three behind Wolfsburg.
Schalke also leads it UEFA Cup group after a 1-0 win at Hearts on Thursday. Hamburg has been playing better after losing four of its first five Bundesliga matches.
"It would certainly have been easier had we faced them four weeks ago," said Rangnick. "You get the feeling that a collective spirit is developing again in Hamburg. So we know it's going to be a difficult game."
New Borussia Monchengladbach coach Dick Advocaat will make his debut at Mainz on Saturday. Horst Koppel served as the interim coach after Holger Fach was fired, and led the team to a shocking 2-0 win over Bayern Munich last Saturday. Now it is the former Dutch boss' turn to see if he cane do the same.
