Dortmund, Germany (Betting Express) - Borussia Dortmund agreed to terms with Swiss Under-21 international defender Philipp Degen Wednesday.

The 21-year-old Degen, who currently plays for Swiss giants FC Basel, will not join the Bundesliga club until next season. He will come to Germany on a three-year deal as a free transfer.

"I decided on (Dortmund) for footballing reasons," Degen said. "I'm very happy to play here next season."

Dortmund and sporting director Michael Zorc have had their eyes on Degen for some time before finally solidifying the move to Westfalen Stadium.

"He has the talent to assert himself in the Bundesliga well," explained Dortmund coach Bert van Marwijk.
