Monchengladbach, Germany (Betting Express) - Borussia Monchengladbach signed former Holland national team boss Dick Advocaat to be its new coach Tuesday.

Advocaat signed a deal that will keep him with Monchengladbach until the summer of 2007. He takes over for Holger Fach, who was fired last week. Horst Koppel, Monchengladbach's reserve team coach, led the team to a 2-0 upset over Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Advocaat, who had two separate spells as boss of the Dutch national team, led Holland to the semifinals of EURO 2004 before stepping down. The 57-year-old also had stints in charge of PSV Eindhoven and Rangers.

Monchengladbach, which has won the Bundesliga championship five times, is currently 14th in the 18-team league. Advocaat is expected to make his debut at Mainz on Saturday.
