Tempe, AZ (Betting Express) - The Arizona Cardinals signed free agent Joey Porter to a three-year contract on Friday. The veteran linebacker, who turns 33 on Monday, was released by the Dolphins earlier this offseason after spending three years with the club. In 14 games last season, Porter logged 41 tackles and nine sacks but battled knee injuries through most of the year. "It is exciting on many levels," Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "Having another veteran player, who has had great success in this league, to contribute will only help us in an area defensively where we want to improve." The Colorado State product spent the first eight years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with whom he recorded 498 tackles, 60 sacks and 10 interceptions. His sack total ranked fourth in team history at the time of his release. His 92 sacks rank second on the active list behind Jason Taylor's 127 1/2.
