Arlington, TX (Betting Express) - The Texas Rangers designated relief pitcher Josh Rupe for assignment on Saturday. Rupe has appeared in four games so far this season, getting shelled for eight runs on 12 hits and five walks in 4 2/3 frames for an earned run average of 15.43 for Texas, which has 10 days to trade, release or outright the reliever to the minor leagues. The Rangers purchased the contract of left-handed pitcher Derek Holland from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Rupe's spot on the roster. The 22-year-old has yet to appear in a major league game.
