Rose, Bulls hang on to edge Raptors

Toronto, ON (Betting Express) - Derrick Rose scored 25 points and dished out 10 assists, and Joakim Noah came up with a big block in the closing seconds in Chicago's 102-98 win over the Toronto Raptors.

Luol Deng added 16 points and 14 boards for the Bulls, who snapped a two-game skid and won for just the fifth time (5-15) on the road all season. Andres Nocioni also scored 16, while Kirk Hinrich added 12 and Ben Gordon 10 for Chicago.

"You've got to play with a lot of energy," said Deng. "I thought the last few games, standing around and watching, we lacked a lot of energy. The one thing I want to put in my mind is to come back with a lot of energy."

Andrea Bargnani had a career-best 31 points to go with 10 rebounds for the Raptors, losers of three in a row. Chris Bosh tallied 25 points and Anthony Parker scored 15 in defeat, another tough one for the Raptors after a 115-109 overtime loss at Boston on Monday.

"Just like the game in Boston, we had a chance to win," said Bargnani. "We can't let teams like that jump on us in the first quarter. We could have won today against the Bulls. It's not an easy game because they are a good team, but we have to win especially after two losses."

Bosh's bucket with 1 1/2 minutes remaining had the Raptors within two points, but Rose drove in for a layup.

Parker's layup had the hosts within two again with a half-minute remaining and Toronto had a golden opportunity to tie the game after Hinrich's inbounds pass was intercepted by Bosh.

Toronto called timeout with 12.7 seconds remaining, but Noah blocked a Bosh shot from the left side. Deng nailed a pair from the foul line with 4.7 seconds to go to seal the victory.

"I know he pump fakes a lot," Noah said of Bosh. "I didn't go for the first fake. I knew the shot clock was going down and I knew he was going to try and get it up."

The Bulls were ahead by as many as 12 points in the opening quarter before settling for a 27-18 cushion going to the second.

Bargnani's three-pointer closed the gap to 42-39 with just over three minutes remaining in the half, and another three by him had the Raptors in front 48-44. That capped a 12-2 run before Hinrich hit a three to end the half.

Toronto led 71-68 after a tightly contested third quarter, but the Bulls began the fourth with nine consecutive points, culminated by a Rose layup.
