(Betting Express) - The Carolina Hurricanes will aim for their longest winning streak of the season when they welcome the New Jersey Devils for this evening's matchup at RBC Center.

The Hurricanes recorded a win Saturday in Tampa to match their season high with three straight victories. Carolina last won four in a row during a five-game winning streak from March 1-12 of last season.

Justin Williams had a goal and an assist to lead the Hurricanes to the 3-2 decision over the Lightning at St. Pete Times Forum.

Chad LaRose and Joni Pitkanen each had a goal for the Hurricanes, who have also won four of their last five games.

Cam Ward needed to make just 17 saves to record his 15th victory of the season. Ward has struggled in seven career games versus the Devils, going 2-4-1 with an .874 save percentage and 3.14 goals against average.

Carolina has won two straight and five of its last six home games and is 11-9-1 as the host this season.

The Devils have also been hot lately, winning two straight and four of their last five games. Jersey comes into tonight's test third in the Atlantic Division with 49 points and just two points behind the New York Rangers for first place.

New Jersey earned its most recent victory Sunday against the visiting Ottawa Senators. Brian Rolston's power-play goal 1:43 into overtime lifted the Devils to the 4-3 decision at Prudential Center.

Dainius Zubrus scored twice, and Jamie Langenbrunner added a power-play marker for New Jersey.

Scott Clemmensen turned aside 17 shots in the win and improved to 15-6-1 on the season.

The Devils are 10-5-2 as the visiting team this year and have won five of their last seven road games. Jersey will play seven of its next eight games as the guest, beginning with this evening's contest.

This evening's test is the first of four meetings between the Devils and Hurricanes this season. New Jersey has won eight of the last 10 meetings in the series overall and seven of nine in Raleigh.
