New York, NY (Betting Express) - Detroit's Rodney Stuckey and Minnesota's Al Jefferson were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for the period ending January 4. Stuckey helped the Pistons to a 4-0 week, posting averages of 23.0 points, 5.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds. The four wins are part of an overall seven-game win streak for Detroit. The second-year player scored 38 points and added seven assists in a January 2 win over Sacramento, and two nights later had 24 points and six helpers in a one-point win over the Clippers in Los Angeles. Jefferson helped Minnesota go 3-1 during the past week, as the Timberwolves posted consecutive wins for the first time all season. He averaged 27.3 points -- while shooting .524 -- and 12.3 rebounds, helping the Timberwolves eclipse 100 points in each of the four games. Jefferson's standout game during the stretch came in a December 29 overtime win over Memphis, in which he poured in a season-high 38 points and grabbed 16 boards. Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Atlanta's Josh Smith, Boston's Paul Pierce, Charlotte's Boris Diaw, Cleveland's LeBron James, Dallas' Josh Howard, Denver's Nene, Indiana's Jarrett Jack, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant, Miami's Dwyane Wade, the Knicks' Wilson Chandler, Phoenix's Shaquille O'Neal, San Antonio's Tony Parker and Washington's Antawn Jamison.
