(Betting Express) - The Washington Capitals will try to get back in the win column tonight when they continue their five-game road trip with a stop at the Honda Center to face the Anaheim Ducks.

The Capitals had a five-game winning streak halted their last time on the ice, losing the back end of a home-and-home series with the New Jersey Devils. Saturday's shootout loss to the Devils was the opener of the trek and dropped Washington to just 3-4-2 as the visiting team this season.

The Southeast Division-leading Caps have done most of their damage at home, as they boast a 7-0-1 record at the Verizon Center.

Zach Parise scored the winning goal in the shootout to help the Devils post a 6-5 win over the Caps. Washington was happy to get the point though, as Alexander Ovechkin's goal with one second left in regulation allowed the Caps to push the game to overtime.

Nicklas Backstrom had a goal and four assists to lead the Caps and Ovechkin finished with two goals and a helper. Jose Theodore allowed five goals on 33 shots in defeat.

Backstrom was named the NHL's First Star for the week ending on November 18 after leading all scorers with 11 points, on two goals and nine assists, in four contests. Ovechkin picked up second star by erupting for 10 points over that span.

Next up for Washington on its road trip is Thursday's contest against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Ducks, meanwhile, ended a three-game skid by posting a win over the Kings on Sunday. Jonas Hiller made 29 saves to notch his first career shutout, as Anaheim secured the 2-0 home win.

Corey Perry and Bret Hedican tallied for Anaheim, which is wrapping a season- high, six-game homestand tonight. The Ducks are just 5-5-2 as the host this season and 2-2-1 on the current residency.

After tonight's test, the Ducks will embark on a two-game swing this weekend, stopping in St. Louis on Friday and visiting Dallas the following night.

Anaheim has won three of four, five of seven and eight of the last 11 meetings against the Capitals. Washington is just 2-6 with a tie in its last nine trips to the Honda Center.
