Auburn, AL (Betting Express) - Marco Killingsworth, Auburn University's leading scorer and rebounder, withdrew his name from the NBA Draft on Tuesday and also announced he is leaving the school, according to head coach Jeff Lebo.

Killingsworth, a senior, averaged 13.7 points, grabbed 6.9 rebounds and shot 59 percent from the field this past year to lead the SEC for the second- consecutive season.

"This is certainly typical with coaching transitions," said Lebo, who was hired as the team's coach just over two months ago. "Marco is looking for a fresh start."

Killingsworth, who did not hire an agent, will have to sit out one full year. He would have been eligible to play in the 2005-06 season for the Tigers, but instead has decided to transfer and will then have one year of eligibility remaining.

"I have decided to pull my name from the 2004 NBA Draft," Killingsworth said. "I am returning to college to finish my degree and will continue to improve my game."

Killingsworth finished his three-year Auburn career with 1,041 points for the Tigers, which places him 25th on Auburn's all-time list.

"I have spoken with Coach Lebo and have received my release from Auburn and will transfer," said Killingsworth. "This decision has nothing to do with the new coaching staff. I appreciate Coach Lebo's support."

Killingsworth, an All-SEC second-team pick by the league's coaches, had until June 17 to make a decision on whether to return to school. The draft is set for June 24 at Madison Square Garden.
