Green Bay, WI (Betting Express) - Green Bay and quarterback Tim Couch have agreed to the framework of a one-year deal, according to the Green Bay Press- Gazette.

The paper reports that Couch, who was recently released by Cleveland, will make $1.25 million in salary and a signing bonus in 2004 once a few details are ironed out. The report says the deal could end up being for two seasons.

Couch was let go by the Browns last Friday. The move was delayed until a grievance, filed by Couch against the team, went through the Players' Association and was resolved. The grievance addressed Couch being banned from working out at the Browns' training facility.

Cleveland drafted Couch with its first selection as an expansion team in 1999. However, Couch's tenure was marred by injuries and controversy over whether he or Kelly Holcomb should start.

Couch's release was sealed in March when the Browns signed free agent Jeff Garcia.

Couch never developed into the player the Browns expected in five often turbulent seasons. He finishes his career in Cleveland completing 1,025- of-1,714 passes for 11,131 yards with 64 touchdowns and 67 interceptions.
