=== Washington Capitals Team Report - March 9 === (Betting Express) - The Capitals' housecleaning continued on Monday, as they dealt right wing Anson Carter to the Los Angeles Kings for forward prospect Jared Aulin. Carter changed hands for the second time this season, as he was acquired by the Capitals from the New York Rangers for Jaromir Jagr on January 23. Carter played 19 games for the Capitals. Aulin, who will turn 22 March 15, has not played this season due to suffering a shoulder injury in rookie training camp and recovering from subsequent surgery. Last season, Aulin played 17 games for the Kings, posting two goals and two assists for four points. He also spent time with the American Hockey League's Manchester Monarchs, tallying 12 goals and 32 assists for 44 points in 44 games while recording 21 penalty minutes. The Capitals followed the trade by dropping a 4-1 decision to the Ottawa Senators. Stephen Peat scored the lone goal for Washington, which played against former teammate Peter Bondra for the first time since he was dealt February 18 to Ottawa as part of the Capitals' recent fire sale. The Capitals have just two wins in their last nine games (2-6-1) and haven't won any of their last six at home against Ottawa. Sebastien Charpentier was shaky in this one, stopping just 17 of the 21 shots he faced. The Capitals are just 1-4-1 in their last six home contests. Washington has a day off before skating with the Buffalo Sabres Wednesday night. The Capitals will be playing the third of their current four-game homestand.
