Frisco, TX (Betting Express) - The Dallas Stars, in an attempt to strengthen their team for the stretch run, traded Monday for right wing Valeri Bure. Bure comes over to Dallas from Florida in exchange for Dallas' compensatory draft pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and defenseman Drew Bagnall. The trade will become official when Bure passes a physical in Dallas on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Bure is in the midst of his 10th NHL season. He has scored 20 goals and dished out 25 assists in 55 games for the Panthers during the current campaign. "Valeri Bure is a skilled winger that we feel will bring some offensive punch to our team," said Dallas general manager Doug Armstrong. In 608 career games, Bure has recorded 172 goals and 221 assists. The Stars are currently two points behind San Jose for the Pacific Division lead. Dallas next plays Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
