Washington, DC (Betting Express) - The Washington Capitals have traded right wing Anson Carter to the Los Angeles Kings for forward Jared Aulin. Carter, an eight-year veteran, was acquired by the Capitals in January in the deal that sent Jaromir Jagr to the New York Rangers. He had five goals and five assists in 19 games with Washington after the trade, and has posted 15 goals and 12 assists in 62 games this season. Aulin has not played this season after suffering a shoulder injury in rookie training camp that required surgery. He played 17 games for the Kings last season, posting two goals and two assists. The trade with Los Angeles is just the latest in a series of cost-cutting moves this season by Washington, which has also sent Robert Lang to the Red Wings, Peter Bondra to Ottawa, Steve Konowalchuk to Colorado and Sergei Gonchar and Michael Nylander to Boston.
