(Betting Express) - Kenny Rogers tries to improve upon his amazing success at McAfee Coliseum this evening, when the Detroit Tigers play the first of three games against the Oakland Athletics.

In his last 41 starts at McAfee, Rogers is an incredible 23-1 with a 3.16 earned run average. That mark also includes a perfect 15-0 clip in the park while pitching for the A's from 1998-99. He is 25-4 lifetime in the building with a 3.46 ERA in 56 games, 45 of which have been starts.

Rogers also leads all active pitchers with 21 wins against Oakland and is 7-0 in his last eight starts against the A's.

The 43-year-old left-hander had his best outing of the season in his last trip to the hill, which came last Monday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Rogers, who is 4-4 with a 5.88 ERA on the season, scattered five hits over seven scoreless innings but did not receive a decision in his team's 1-0 loss.

Rogers has won four of his last five decisions.

Detroit won the rubber match of its three-game series with the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, as Miguel Cabrera's two-run double highlighted a four-run ninth inning to lift the Tigers to a 7-5 win.

Magglio Ordonez went 2-for-4 and also drove in a pair for the Tigers, winners in three of their last four games. Placido Polanco, Carlos Guillen and Ivan Rodriguez also drove in runs.

Zach Miner (2-3) got the win by hurling a scoreless eighth inning in relief of starter Jeremy Bonderman. Bonderman surrendered three runs and a career-high 12 hits over seven innings in the no-decision.

Oakland, meanwhile, avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the Texas Rangers on Sunday, as Jack Hannahan and Bobby Crosby each drove in three runs and the A's used a nine-run seventh inning to post a 13-8 victory.

Jack Cust belted a two-run homer while Travis Buck and Mark Ellis both clubbed solo home runs for Oakland, which snapped a season high-tying four- game losing streak.

Greg Smith allowed seven runs on seven hits in five-plus innings for the A's, but did not factor in the decision. Chad Gaudin (4-3) completed the sixth inning to earn the win.

Heading to the hill for the A's tonight will be oft-injured right-hander Rich Harden, who is 2-0 over his last three starts and has allowed just four runs during that stretch. Harden, though, received a no-decision on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays, giving up a run and five hits in seven innings of a 2-1 loss.

Harden, who is 3-0 with a 2.60 ERA this season, is 3-1 against the Tigers over his career with a 3.70 ERA in four starts.

Oakland won six of its 10 matchups with the Tigers last season.
