Surprise, AZ (Betting Express) - The Texas Rangers have agreed to a four-year with president Nolan Ryan and a two-year extension with general manager Jon Daniels on Friday. Ryan became the 10th president in Rangers club history on February 6. He succeeded Jeff Cogen, who held the post from October 2004 until November 14, 2007, when Cogen was named president of the Dallas Stars. Ryan, of course, spent the final five years of his illustrious 27-year career with Texas and went into the Hall of Fame with them back in 1999. He remains the only Rangers player to have his number (34) retired by the team. Daniels was the youngest general manager in Major League history at 28 years, 41 days when he was appointed the eighth Rangers general manager in team history on October 4, 2005. The extension will carry him through the 2011 season.
