Sarasota, FL (Betting Express) - Cincinnati Reds shortstop Alex Gonzalez was diagnosed with a compression fracture in his left knee Friday. Gonzalez, 31, will be evaluated again in the three weeks. It is not known how long he will be out. The 10-year veteran batted .272 with 16 homers and 55 RBI last season, his first with the Reds. He didn't start a game after September 12 because of a bone bruise in the same knee. Gonzalez has hit .248 with 106 homers and 480 RBI in 1117 career games with the Florida Marlins (1998-05), Boston Red Sox (2006) and Reds.
