Santa Clara, CA (Betting Express) - The San Francisco 49ers signed cornerback and kick returner Allen Rossum Friday, just three days after the veteran was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rossum has played in 140 career games over 10 NFL seasons, breaking into the league with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998. He ranks second in league history in career total return yards with 13,269, and in kickoff return yards with 10,520. He is also fifth on the all-time punt-return list with 2,749 yards.

The former Notre Dame star has enjoyed stints with the Eagles, Packers, Falcons and Steelers, earning a Pro Bowl berth in 2004 with Atlanta and returning three punts and four kickoffs for scores in his career.
