The Blues' Pavol Demitra netted a goal on the power play with 6:02 left in the second period to knot the score. Chris Osgood made 24 saves for St. Louis, which preserved its nine-game unbeaten streak (7-0-2). Sean Burke stopped 30 shots, including one from point blank range in the closing seconds. With seven seconds remaining in overtime, Eric Nickulas tried to go to the backhand, but he was stoned by Burke right on the doorstep after taking a feed from Demitra. The Blues have 44 points and trail Detroit by two for first place in the Central Division. The two teams meet up at Joe Louis Arena on Monday night. |
