=== Edmonton Oilers Team Report - December 4 === (Betting Express) - Manny Fernandez stopped all 34 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season, and Marian Gaborik scored the game's only goal, as the Minnesota Wild outlasted the Edmonton Oilers, 1-0, at Rexall Place. Minnesota won for just the first time in six games (1-4-1) on Gaborik's first goal in six contests and Fernandez's ninth career shutout. Ty Conklin stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced for the Oilers, who have dropped four straight at home and are winless in their last six overall (0-5-1). Midway through the first period on the power play, Gaborik scored his third of the season. The Oilers couldn't clear the puck up the left side, and Jim Dowd collected the puck at the left wing half-boards. Dowd feathered a pass out to Andrei Zyuzin at the to left point, and he ripped a slapshot on net. Edmonton's best chance of the period came when Raffi Torres ripped a shot from the left face-off circle with about four minutes to go that Fernandez had to split wide with his left pad to stop. Radek Dvorak then came bearing down hard in front, whacking at the puck. Still, Fernandez stood tall to the task. Things got interesting in the final minute when Nick Schultz was called for a slash with 1:01 to play, giving Edmonton a man advantage. Then the Oilers pulled Conklin, and skated 6-on-4 for the final minute. However, they couldn't generate a shot on net. The Oilers, 7-5-1 on home ice, will host lowly Pittsburgh on Saturday.
