Uniondale, NY (Betting Express) - New York Islanders center Mike Sillinger is expected to miss approximately three weeks with a hip injury, it was announced Monday. The club did not indicate when Sillinger suffered the injury. The Isles last played in Saturday night's 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Sillinger skated in 22 shifts and logged about 15 minutes of ice time in that contest. Sillinger has posted 14 goals and 12 assists for 26 points in 52 games for the Islanders this season. His spot in the lineup will be filled by prospect Frans Nielsen, recalled from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. Also recalled from Bridgeport on Monday were Nielsen's linemate, Jeff Tambellini, and veteran enforcer Kip Brennan.
