Chicago, IL (Betting Express) - The Chicago White Sox and Colorado Rockies traded infielders on Tuesday, as the Sox acquired Juan Uribe from Colorado in exchange for Aaron Miles. Uribe played in just 87 games last season for Colorado after suffering a broken foot in spring training. He hit .253 with a career-best 10 home runs and 33 runs batted in. The 24-year-old made 286 career starts at shortstop for the Rockies, the third-most in club history. He is a career .258 hitter in 314 games, all with Colorado. "In the short term, Juan gives us an experienced utility player who can deliver plus defensive skills at both shortstop and second base," said White Sox general manager Ken Williams. "In the long term, we believe Juan has a high upside as an everyday shortstop in the major leagues." Miles played in eight games for Chicago last year as a September call-up, hitting .333 with two runs batted in. He was the International League Rookie of the Year at Triple-A Charlotte, batting .304 with 34 doubles, 11 home runs and 50 RBI in 133 games. The 26-year-old switch-hitter was obtained by the White Sox in the 2000 Rule 5 Draft after spending his first six pro seasons in the Houston organization.
