=== Sharks re-sign Cheechoo === San Jose, CA (Betting Express) - The San Jose Sharks Friday re-signed Group II restricted free agent forward Jonathan Cheechoo. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Last season, the 22-year-old Cheechoo recorded 16 points (9 goals, 7 assists) in 66 games for the Sharks after being recalled from Cleveland. Cheechoo, the leading goal scorer among San Jose rookies, played in his first career NHL game on October 10 against Detroit and later tallied his first NHL goal on October 24 at Nashville. The native of Moose Factory, Ontario was chosen by San Jose in the second round (29th overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. |
