(Betting Express) - The playoff-bound Chicago Bulls open a two-game road trip when they visit the slumping Atlanta Hawks this afternoon at Philips Arena.

Chicago, which is No. 5 in the Eastern Conference playoff race, tries to get back on the winning track today. On Friday, LeBron James scored 39 points and dished out nine assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Bulls, 112-108, in overtime at the United Center.

Ben Gordon poured in 37 points and Tyrus Thomas added a career-high 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Chicago, which had a four-game winning streak halted. Kirk Hinrich finished with 22 points and 11 assists in defeat.

The Bulls are 15-21 on the road this season. They will visit the Pistons on Wednesday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Atlanta has dropped five straight games. Gerald Wallace had 31 points and nine rebounds to lead the Bobcats to a 101-87 victory over the Hawks at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

Josh Smith finished with 25 points, 15 boards and six blocked shots, while Marvin Williams had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Charlotte for the Hawks, who have lost seven of their last eight games overall. Salim Stoudamire chipped in 12 points and Lorenzen Wright netted 10 for Atlanta, which committed 22 turnovers.

The Hawks are 15-21 at home this season. They will visit Vince Carter and the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday at Continental Airlines Arena.

This is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the squads. The Bulls won all three contests this season and have captured 10 in a row in the series.

Chicago has won five straight after losing its last two at Atlanta.
