=== Braves place Hernandez on 15-day DL === Seattle, WA (Betting Express) - The Atlanta Braves placed reliever Roberto Hernandez on the 15-day disabled list Friday. Hernandez, whose placement is retroactive to June 12, is suffering from an abdominal strain after he left Atlanta's 11-6 victory at Oakland on Wednesday. The 38-year-old righthander, a key set-up man in the Braves' bullpen, is 5-2 with a 4.70 ERA in 30 2/3 innings this season. To fill the roster spot, the Braves recalled righty Jason Marquis from Triple- A Richmond. Marquis held a regular spot in the Braves' starting rotation last season, going 8-9 with a 5.04 ERA in 22 starts. He began the 2003 campaign with the big club, but was sent to Richmond after appearing in just three games. |
