Cincinnati, OH (Betting Express) - The Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies were involved in a bench-clearing brawl in the sixth inning of the Reds' 15-1 blowout win at the Great American Ball Park. The brawl occurred shortly after Jason LaRue made it a 12-0 game with a two- run homer in the sixth. Phillies reliever Carlos Silva began throwing inside on Cincinnati slugger Adam Dunn to ignite the melee. A warning was issued on a inside toss at Dunn's waist, but Silva through behind the batter on the very next pitch. Dunn started slowly towards the mound at first, but then made a break for Silva. However, catcher Mike Lieberthal tackled Dunn by the ankles and the big outfielder fell to the ground. Silva took a swing at the fallen Dunn as both benches emptied and a brawl ensued. Silva was ejected along with teammate Jose Mesa and Phillies manager Larry Bowa. Dunn and Sean Casey were tossed for Cincinnati. The fight may have stemmed from an earlier incident in the fifth inning. Ken Griffey Jr.'s RBI single in the fifth scored Jimmy Haynes to give the Reds a 10-0 lead. Dunn also tried to score on the play, but the throw beat him to the plate and he bowled over Lieberthal, who held on to the ball. Dunn was also hit with a pitch by Phillies' starter Kevin Millwood in the fourth inning.
