ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Chris Cooley is back - and he's still Captain Chaos. The Washington Redskins tight end played only seven games last season before an ankle injury ended his season. Now the two-time Pro Bowler has to share the load with up-and-comer Fred Davis. But Cooley doesn't see himself competing with Davis. Both tight ends should be on the field at the same time quite often in the team's new offense. The layoff didn't take an edge off Cooley's personality. He's already helped a fan make a marriage |

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -For the purist, there's something refreshing about watching a Washington Redskins practice under new coach Mike Shanahan. Gone are the gimmicks seen under departed coach Jim Zorn. There's no music blaring. No Z-shades to keep the players out of the sun. No flashy drills. Just lots and lots of plays. Receiver Devin Thomas calls it ``pure football'' and says it's a good change of pace after a 4-12 season. Thomas says the team needs focus and not ``all that extra.''Copyright © 2005 The |
