The move, which is retroactive to April 26, comes after Marte struggled in seven appearances this season. Aybar was covering second base on a steal attempt by Derek Jeter in the first inning. The throw from catcher Mike Napoli deflected off Jeter's helmet before hitting Aybar in the jaw.
