Kansas to name Charlie Weis head coach Division I College Football 12/08/2011
m after a 6-6 season in 2009. Weis moved on to the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs in 2010 as an offensive coordinator, and spent this past season with the Florida Gators as their offensive coordinator. Before becoming the head coach at Notre Dame, Weis spent two seasons as the offensive coordinator of the New York Jets from 1998-1999, and four years as the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots from 2000-2004 where he won three Super Bowl rings. Weis will become the 37th head football coach in Kansas history.

ies Wilson, who was fired on Nov. 20 following a 1-9 season and a 17-43 record in six seasons. Mangurian's coaching experience spans 31 seasons over stops at his alma mater, LSU, as well as SMU, New Mexico State and Stanford, and in the NFL with the New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and, most recently, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "As soon as I stepped on campus, I was energized," Mangurian said. "What excited me the most was that every person I spoke to had the same enthusiasm, c

tory over the first 13 weeks, which really is a remarkable number when considering there's still both an undefeated and a winless team with four games to go. That 2003 season also produced one of the most thrilling finishes to a Super Bowl, with the New England Patriots edging the Carolina Panthers on a late field goal that capped a whirlwind fourth quarter featuring three lead changes and 37 points scored, as well as one of the most controversial halftime shows the Big Game has ever put on. Perhaps that helps expl
Gronkowski's three TDs paces Pats over winless Colts NFL Football 12/04/2011
Foxboro, MA (BettingExpress) - He may be just 22 years young, but Rob Gronkowski is fast becoming the best tight end in the NFL, if he's not already. Gronkowski caught two touchdown passes and ran for another score, as the New England Patriots beat the lowly Indianapolis Colts, 31-24, at Gillette Stadium. The 2010 second-rounder tied Vernon Davis (2009) and Antonio Gates (2004) for the league's single-season record for receiving touchdowns at his position with 13. Gronkowski appeared to surpass the mark in the thi

the way to finishing 8-8 and missing the NFC Playoffs. The Broncos, meanwhile, went on to capture the Super Bowl anyway in what wound up being John Elways final season. And in Super Bowl XLII to conclude the 2007 season, New York encountered an 18-0 New England Patriots team on the verge of joining the 1972 Miami Dolphins as the only perfect world champions in NFL history -- and instead claimed the glory for itself with a stunning 17-14 win. So when the 11-0 Green Bay Packers arrive Sunday at MetLife Stadium for th
Patriots host bumbling Colts in potential mismatch NFL Football 12/02/2011
(BettingExpress) - In terms of suddenly-reduced luster, Sunday's clash between the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium may be the biggest NFL game of all time. When it came to AFC supremacy over the past decade, no matchup was more anticipated each season than Indianapolis against New England. In January of 2004, the teams met in the AFC Championship in Foxborough pitting the 12-4 Colts and the 14-2 Patriots. A year later, again in the playoffs, it was again the 12-4 Colts against the 1

anterior fusion surgery on September 8 and was cleared to leave the booth and stand on the sidelines in early October. Without its franchise cornerstone, Indianapolis has struggled mightily, going 0-11 heading into a Sunday night meeting against the New England Patriots. The Colts have not had a winless season since an 0-8-1 finish to the strike- shortened 1982 campaign, but have not finished a full regular season without a victory in their history. Veteran Kerry Collins started three games, but was lost for the ye
Brady, Barwin and Janikowski selected for AFC monthly honors NFL Football 12/01/2011
New York, NY (BettingExpress) - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Houston linebacker Connor Barwin and Oakland kicker Sebastian Janikowski have been named as the AFC's top players for the month of November. Brady captured the offensive award for the fifth time in his brilliant career, completing 62.4 percent of his passes for 1,266 yards with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions during the month. He led the league in passing yards for November and tied for second in TD throws. The 12th-year veteran surpas
Colts to start Orlovsky on Sunday NFL Football 11/29/2011
Indianapolis, IN (BettingExpress) - Still searching for their first win of the season, the Indianapolis Colts will start Dan Orlovsky at quarterback this Sunday against the New England Patriots. "Curtis Painter will not start this game, Dan Orlovsky will," Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said on Tuesday. "I think he's a guy that certainly is comfortable within the framework of the system. He' got a nice, strong arm, and we're anticipating that he's going to be accurate as well, and that's key. The big thing is, obvi
